Force, direction, magnitude, results - simplified.
About Vector Performance SystemsShane and Erik met as interns at Flight Performance + Fitness in Waltham, Massachusetts — at the time, one of the best results-driven strength and conditioning facilities on the East Coast. Erik had just finished playing professional rugby. Shane was about to move to New Hampshire to run the varsity weight room at Dartmouth College and coach strength and conditioning for the men’s rugby team there. Both excelled in the internship, and it changed where they went next: Erik went back to California and started working with EXOS, training NFL free agents and combine prospects, and coaching athletes through the back half of their careers. Shane took the job at Flight.

They stayed in touch over the years that followed, each still learning and growing into their own understanding of the craft. It took that time before they were ready to branch out on their own — and when they were, they realized they’d been seeing the same problem from different ends of the industry.

At the top, professional and Olympic-caliber athletes, the training is good, but it’s expensive and it doesn’t scale. At the bottom, youth, high school, and college strength and conditioning, the principles are often sound but under-resourced. And in the middle, the working professional trying to train like an athlete around a full-time job is mostly left to figure it out alone. None of these groups lacked good information. What they lacked was a system built for who they actually are — one that could deliver real quality without the professional-athlete price tag.

That’s half of why Vector exists: to build those systems, and to put them in the hands of other coaches, too. Shane and Erik want to raise the floor and the ceiling for the practitioners coming up behind them, the way their own mentors raised theirs.

The other half is the general population’s relationship with basic training and nutrition. Most of what people are sold is either framed as the one solution that will fix everything, or made to sound too complicated to do without buying something. It isn’t. The principles are simple. What most people are actually missing is an honest read on where they’re starting from, a system built around that, and someone who’ll stay in the loop with them while they use it.

Vector Performance Systems is their answer to both halves: direction before volume, a method before the motivation, and coaching that’s built to scale — for the athlete chasing a draft number, the forty-year-old trying to stay capable, and every coach they train to do the same for someone else.

How will you create a personalized workout and lifestyle plan for me?

How will we communicate and track progress?

Communication - I am available via text message and truecoach almost always, I give my clients a 12 hour window for me to respond. We will also have (at least) 1 check in call every 1-2 weeks so we can discuss wins, losses, form or course corrections we need to take. A longer 1x/month call will happen at the end of every month to review the months peaks and valleys. Truecoach is the training app I use and it allows for tracking of weights/progression over time!

How do you handle adjustments to the program if I have injuries or limitations?

That's where we can thrive best as a team. When injuries occur or limitations imposed, it allows me to gain better insight into how you move and your body responds. From there we can create an action plan that is phsyiologically sound and get you back to 100% as quick as we can.
